Good system for my small business

Compared to my old Zettle reader, Flatpay has been a really positive change. Setting up recurring billing was straightforward, and it integrates with Google Pay without any issues. The Flatpay terminal itself is portable, which is great for when I'm on the go. My only small wish is that they made the initial onboarding discounts a bit more transparent upfront, rather than just showing up in the process.

Online Payments worked fine

Needed a new solution for Online Payments on my site. Flatpay had a decent offer, and I went with it. The integration wasn't too bad, just followed the steps. I did have to read through their FAQs a couple times to figure out the payout schedule, which wasn't super clear at first glance. But once it was up, customers could use Apple Pay and Google Pay without a hitch. It's been running smoothly since. I mean, it does what it says it will do, which is always good.

Good system, slow support response

I signed up for Flatpay a few months ago, mainly for their POS System and the Business Analytics Dashboard. The setup process for the POS system itself was fairly straightforward, and the flat-rate pricing has been a real benefit for my small shop, very transparent. I found the analytics pretty helpful for seeing sales trends. However, I did have a question about integrating with my inventory management software, and it took about three days to get a detailed response from customer support. Not terrible, but could be quicker when you're trying to get things done. Overall, it's a solid service for the price, but they could improve on response times for technical queries.

Easy card reader setup

Got the Card Reader for my pop-up. It was easy to set up. Transactions go through fast. No issues with it so far. Good for my small business.

Does Flatpay really give you a free trial? Trying to test it out before committing to anything.

M Mike Patel 1 month ago
They usually do, yeah. I got a free trial for the software when I first signed up.

For sure, I got a trial for a month. Let me really see if it fit my business before I paid anything. Pretty standard practice for them, I think.

Hey, anyone know if Flatpay has any Black Friday deals? Thinking about upgrading my POS system then.

A Alex Q. 2 months ago
Yeah, they usually do. I got a pretty sweet deal on a terminal bundle during their Black Friday sale a couple years ago.

They definitely do seasonal stuff. Keep an eye out closer to the date, I've seen them waive setup fees or give first month free around those times.

Are Flatpay terminals portable? I run a pop-up shop sometimes and need something I can move around easily.

A Amber V. 2 months ago
Yep, they have mobile options. I use one for my market stall, works great with my phone.

Totally. The card reader they sent me is small and connects wirelessly. Super easy to carry around.

how does Flatpay compare to Square? I'm using Square right now but looking for something maybe a bit cheaper on transaction fees.

J Jared Nguyen 2 months ago
Flatpay's whole thing is that flat rate, which can be better for some businesses, especially if your volume fluctuates. Square's fees can add up.

I switched from Square because I found Flatpay's flat rate more predictable. Didn't have to worry as much about smaller transactions getting eaten up by percentages. Their POS system is also pretty solid.

Thinking about switching to Flatpay but I'm worried about getting locked into a long contract. Are their contracts super long or can I get out easily if it doesn't work for my business?

M Mike 2 months ago
I think it's mostly month-to-month, or at least they were when I signed up last year. Didn't feel locked in at all.

They're pretty flexible, not like those old bank terminals that tie you down for years. I asked about it before I joined and it was a relief.
